That is why the name “Kith and Kin”, which literally means “friends and family”, is such a fitting name for our organisation and little community. 🏡❤️
That feeling of friendship, belonging, contribution and community runs through everything we do. 🤝💙
Kith and Kin’s amazing legacy started over 45 years ago with Townsville parents who needed real options for their children at a time when there was no funding, no NDIS and extremely limited options available. 🌱💙
Today, there are hundreds of providers and options, but still only one Kith and Kin, dedicated to Townsville. 🌴🏡❤️
Thanks to the mammoth efforts of many, Kith and Kin is one of Townsville’s great success stories. 🎉🙌
The focus, the purpose, the energy and the wonderful outcomes, smiles and laughter that come from everyday wins, and making connections have attracted many supportive parents, wonderful individuals with a disability, passionate professionals, generous volunteers, dedicated support workers, and thoughtful local businesses and partners to join our journey. ❤️🤝😊🌟

🥳 The celebrations 🥳
Our 45th Birthday Celebration was everything we hoped for and more! The Kith and Kin centre was buzzing with laughter, music, smiles, and an incredible sense of community as participants, families, staff, friends, and supporters came together to celebrate this amazing milestone.
There was something for everyone to enjoy! Our guests danced the day away, met some adorable furry friends at the animal farm, got creative with face painting, planted beautiful sunflowers to take home, and enjoyed delicious coffee from the coffee van. We were also thrilled to have Star 106.3 broadcasting live from the event, helping us share the excitement with the wider Townsville community!
One of the biggest highlights of the day was our fantastic birthday raffle, filled with incredible prizes generously donated by local businesses. We were overwhelmed by the support from our community, and we simply couldn’t have done it without you.
